GOGO Electric Secures $1 Million Re-investment from EDFI ElectriFI

EDFI ElectriFI, the EU-funded Electrification Financing Initiative, is re-investing $1 million in GOGO Electric to expand our battery-swap infrastructure. This investment will strengthen our swap network, giving electric riders better access to clean, reliable energy and accelerating Uganda’s transition to e-mobility.

The investment announcement took place during EU Green Diplomacy Week at the GOGO Electric Factory, in the presence of Hon. Dr. Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu, Minister of Energy and Mineral Development and His Excellency Jan Sadek, EU ambassador to Uganda.

Remarks from both the Minister and the Ambassador highlighted the shared mission of Uganda and the European Union to make renewable energy affordable and accessible for EV manufacturers and riders alike.

“This additional investment from EDFI MC is proof that GOGO Electric is on the right path to electrify Uganda’s public transport. It shall boost our battery production capacity, allowing us to deploy more electric motorcycles on the Ugandan roads.” – Parth Shah (GOGO CFO)

This brings the total EDFI investment in GOGO Electric to $2.6 million, the first investment of $1.6 million was made last year.

We extend our sincere thanks to EDFI ElectriFI, the EU Mission team, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development for supporting this vision.
