Job Purpose: 

The EV Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing GOGO Electric’s fleet of electric motorcycles (e-bikes) to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine and emergency repairs, and providing field rescue services to stranded riders. 

Key Responsibilities:

1.Maintenance and Repairs 

  • Perform routine maintenance on electric motorcycles, including checking wheels, motor, brakes, tires, and electrical components. 
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and tests.
  • Repair and replace faulty components, such as batteries, motors, brakes, wiring, and control systems. 
  • Ensure that bikes meet safety standards and are operating efficiently. 
  • Educate riders on basic maintenance practices, such as checking tire pressure or identifying early signs of electrical problems

2. Field Bike Rescue: 

  • Respond quickly to emergency calls from stranded riders and provide on-site repairs or recovery. 
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs at the location of the breakdown, such as battery swaps, motor repairs, or electrical system resets. 
  • If immediate repair isn’t possible, transport the bike to a service station for more in-depth repairs. 
  • Maintain a log of field repairs and breakdowns to track common issues and improve fleet reliability

3. Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used for each bike. 
  • Report recurring issues to the Head of Operations for further investigation and long-term solutions. 
  • Assist in the development of repair and maintenance protocols to improve efficiency and reduce downtime

4. Customer Interaction and Support: 

  • Interact with riders in a professional and supportive manner, explaining repairs and providing tips for bike maintenance. 
  • Educate riders on safe handling of electric motorcycles and how to avoid common issues. 
  • Provide customer support by answering basic technical questions from riders and addressing their concerns about bike performance 

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Certificate in Automotive mechanics or a related field. 
  • MUST have 2 years of experience of repairs and maintenance for automobiles.
  • MUST have a valid riding permit. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns in the field. 
  • Knowledge of electric motor systems and electrical troubleshooting. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong technical aptitude 
  • Skilled in using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
