Government pushes for affordable alternative to fuel-powered vehicles

In a bid to sustain the transport sector besides the challenges of climate change, the Government has launched an e-mobility programme to promote the use of electronic motorcycles in a bid to fulfil the world’s requirements for clean cities.

This was disclosed by the minister for Kampala Kabuye Kyofa Togabye as he he officiated at the rebranding of Uganda’s Leading EV manufacturer BODAWERK to GOGO as it seeks to double the number of electric vehicles in Uganda over the next two years.

With a partnership with GOGO Watu Credit Uganda Ltd, over 1,000 new Electric vehicles mainly motorbikes are expected to be on the Ugandan market by the end of 2024.
